Lars Cavallin
Lars (Laurentius) Cavallin (born August 15, 1940 , † June 18, 2017 in Borås , Västra Götalands län ) was a Swedish clergyman and Roman Catholic theologian and writer .
Life
Cavallin comes from an old Swedish family line. His brother Caesarius is prior of the Östanbäck Abbey, a monastery belonging to the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Sweden .
In 1968 he was ordained a priest . In 1974 he was in Rome with the work dogma and history of dogma at Adolf von Harnack Dr. theol. PhD. He was pastor of Kristus Konungen , the oldest of three Roman Catholic parishes in Gothenburg . He was provost of the Catholic diocese of Stockholm. He was appointed papal chaplain ( monsignor ).
Lars Cavallin was involved in numerous social projects in the Holy Land . In 2003 he was appointed Grand Officer of the Order of the Knights of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem by Cardinal Grand Master Carlo Furno and appointed Grand Prior of the newly founded Lieutenancy of Sweden of the Papal Lay Order; He was followed in 2007 by Anders Arborelius , Archbishop of Stockholm and cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church since 2017.
Cavallin has published several books and numerous articles. He translated the Catechism of the Catholic Church into Swedish.
