Lars Lasse Jonsson (born January 2, 1982 in Borlänge ) is a former Swedish ice hockey player who was active during his career for Leksands IF , Timrå IK , HV 71 Jönköping and Brynäs IF in the Swedish Elitserien .
Career
Lars Jonsson began his career as a hockey player in the youth of Leksands IF , for whose professional team he was active from 1999 to 2004 in the Elitserien , as well as the HockeyAllsvenskan , where he achieved promotion to the Elitserien with his team in the 2001/02 season. During this time he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2000 in the first round as the seventh player of the Boston Bruins , for which he never played. In the 2002/03 season, the defender also completed a few games for the second division side IF Björklöven and IFK Arboga .
After one year each at Timrå IK and HV71 Jönköping , the Swede was signed on July 1, 2006 as a free agent by the Philadelphia Flyers , for which he made two assists in eight games in the 2006/07 season. The majority of this and the following season, however, spent Jonsson in the farm team of the Flyers from the American Hockey League , the Philadelphia Phantoms .
After two years in North America, the former junior international returned to his home in Sweden, where he was signed by the first division club Brynäs IF . He ended his career after the 2012/13 season.
International
For Sweden , Jonsson took part in the U18 World Junior Championship in 2000 and the U20 World Junior Championship in 2002 .
