Lars Kamp (born March 28, 1996 in Salzkotten ) is a German basketball player .

Player career

Kamp's homeland club is TV 1864 Salzkotten . There he began his basketball career, which he continued from 2006 in the youth department of the Paderborn Baskets . In 2012 he became champions of the youth basketball league with the Paderborn team . He later played for the club in the highest German youth division, the youth basketball division , and from the 2012/13 season gained his first experience in Paderborn's men's team in the 2nd division ProA . In the 2014/15 season he had to take a long break due to an ankle injury, then he sat out in the 2015/16 season for the same reason and moved from Paderborn to another second division club, the Hamburg Towers , in the summer of 2016 . There he played under coach Hamed Attarbashi , who discovered him as a teenager. In addition, thanks to a double license for Hamburg's cooperation partner, SC Rist Wedel , he played in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB . He scored an average of 6.1 points in 26 games for Hamburg in the 2016/17 season, and in the SC Rist jersey he made twelve appearances (average of 12.3 points).

In the summer of 2018, Kamp moved permanently to SC Rist Wedel, for whom he had already played with a double license during his time in Towers. He stood for Wedel in 25 ProB games in the season 18/19 and scored an average of 12.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.2 basket assists and 2.4 ball wins per game. Thanks to a temporary license, he also got two assignments for the Towers in the ProA, which achieved promotion to the basketball league as champions this year . During the summer break of 2019 he moved to VfL Bochum together with Mario Blessing and coach Félix Bañobre .

National team

In 2012 Kamp took part in the European Championship in Lithuania with the German U16 national team, and two years later he played the Albert Schweitzer tournament with the U18 team of the German Basketball Association .
