Lars Olof Karlsson (born June 28, 1960 in Kiruna ) is a former Swedish ice hockey player .

Career

Lars Karlsson began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of Kiruna AIF , for whose professional team he was active in the second-rate Division 1 from 1976 to 1979 . The defender then played for Leksands IF in the Elitserien for five years . For the 1984/85 season he moved within the Elitserien to IF Björklöven , with whom he won the Swedish championship in the 1986/87 season . In the 1988/89 season , the left shooter rose with his team in the second-rate Division 1. From this he reached with IF Björklöven in the 1992/93 season the return to the Elitserien. In the 1993/94 season he ran for the Lycksele SK in the third division Division 2 before ending his career at the age of 34.

International

For Sweden , Karlsson took part in the junior division at the U18 European Junior Championships in 1978 and the U20 World Junior Championships in 1979 and 1980 . In all three tournaments he and his team won the bronze medal.

In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the 1987 World Cup and the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary . He also represented Sweden at the Canada Cup in 1987 . At the 1987 World Cup he won the gold medal with his team and the bronze medal at the 1988 Winter Games.
