Las Peñas is a town in the Santa Cruz department in the lowlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

Las Peñas is the second largest town in the canton of Paurito in the municipality of Santa Cruz in the province of Andrés Ibáñez . The village is located at an altitude of 355  m, twenty kilometers west of the Río Grande , one of the longest rivers in the Bolivian lowlands.

Las Peñas is located in the Bolivian lowlands east of the Andes mountain range of the Cordillera Central .

The mean average temperature of the region is 24 ° C, the annual precipitation is about 1000 mm (see climate diagram Santa Cruz).
