The Municipio Santa Cruz is a district in the Department of Santa Cruz in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
The Municipio Santa Cruz is one of five Municipios in the Andrés Ibáñez Province . It borders the province of Ignacio Warnes to the north, the province of Sara to the northwest , the municipality of Porongo to the west, the municipality of La Guardia to the southwest , the province of Cordillera to the south , and the municipality of Cotoca and the province to the west Chiquitos . The central place is Santa Cruz in the western part of the district with 1,441,406 inhabitants ( 2012 census ).

The municipality of Santa Cruz is located east of the Cordillera Oriental on the edge of the Bolivian lowlands between the Río Piraí in the west and the Río Grande in the east. The region has a semi-humid , humid tropical climate with little day and night fluctuations in temperatures.
