The Municipio La Guardia is a district in the Santa Cruz Department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The municipality of La Guardia is one of five municipalities in the Andrés Ibáñez province . It borders in the northeast on the Municipio Santa Cruz , in the southeast and south on the province Cordillera , in the west on the Municipio El Torno and in the northwest on the Municipio Porongo . The central place is La Guardia in the northwestern part of the district with 76,123 inhabitants ( 2012 census ).

The municipality of La Guardia is located east of the Cordillera Oriental on the edge of the Bolivian lowlands and is bounded to the northwest by the Río Piraí to the municipality of Porongo. The region has a semi- humid, humid tropical climate with low day and night fluctuations in temperatures.
