The Municipio El Torno is a district in the Santa Cruz Department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The Municipio El Torno is one of five Municipios in the Andrés Ibáñez Province . It borders the Municipio Porongo in the northeast, the Municipio La Guardia in the east, the Province of Florida in the southwest , and the Province of Ichilo in the northwest . The central place is El Torno in the northeastern part of the district with 17,130 inhabitants. ( 2012 census )

The municipality of El Torno is located east of the Cordillera Oriental on the edge of the Bolivian lowlands and is traversed by the Río Piraí . The region has a semi- humid, humid tropical climate with low day and night fluctuations in temperatures.
