Folke Lars-Olov (Lasse) Strömstedt (born May 23, 1935 in Gävle , † July 4, 2009 in Gränna ) was a Swedish writer and actor .

Life

Strömstedt's father was a dock worker, his mother a housewife and he grew up in an orderly family environment. Nevertheless, in the summer of 1952, the seventeen-year-old Strömstedt was sentenced to eighteen months in prison for repeated burglary, shoplifting and car theft. He remained a criminal and spent four of eight other prison years in Långholmen Central Prison . Until 1971 his work as a casual worker was interrupted by additional prison stays.

After 1971 he changed his life and became a writer, debater and actor. The breakthrough came in 1974 when he and the journalist Christer Dahl published the novel Grundbulten under the pseudonym Kennet Ahl . It is a gallows-humorous story that describes life in the Hall correctional facility southeast of Södertälje and Stockholm's drug district . Strömstedt also wrote some of his own books and showed great commitment in the fight against crime and drugs. He also made a career as an actor and worked in Staffan Hildebrand's film G - som i gemenskap and in Pelle Berglund's television series Dubbelsvindlarna .

Strömstedt was married to the singer and writer Ann-Christine Bärnsten from 1986 to 2001 .
