Last Day of Freedom ( English : Last day of freedom ) is an animation , short documentary by Dee Hibbert-Jones and Nomi Talisman , the 2015 in black and white was shot. The plot is narrated by Bill Babbitt, whose brother Manny is a veteran of the Vietnam War . Manny suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder and brain damage - despite these personal consequences of the war , Manny was never caught by the health system. When Bill learns of his brother's crime, the latter faces a moral dilemma and ultimately informs the law enforcement authorities . Manny is convicted and sentenced to the death penalty in 1982 . Last Day of Freedom is the result of the experience of Nomi Talisman, who worked on death penalty litigation for a nonprofit organization . She saw difficulties in the affected families and together with Hibbert-Jones they began to interview those affected .
