The Laubaer Wasser , also known as Litte, Alte Litte or Littewasser , is a tributary of the Litte in Saxony .
General
course
The Laubaer Wasser rises in the west of the municipality of Lawalde in the district of Lauba. The upper course runs south of Löbauer Straße in a south-east direction to Lawalde, before it turns south of Gashof Kretscham in a north-east direction. The Laubaer Wasser then flows further out of town towards Löbau. It flows into the Litte north of Großschweidnitz . In addition, the stream was used to power some mills such as the Niedermühle.
designation
In the vernacular, the body of water is usually referred to as the Litte or the Laubaer Wasser. The names Alte Litte or Littewasser are also used. Google Maps and the Saxon dam administration refer to the body of water as Litte water and attribute it to the Großschweidnitzer Litte. Other map services, however, refer to it as the Laubaer Wasser.
environment
Characteristic for the Laubaer Wasser is its natural course in the lower section of the river, where no settlements can be found up to the mouth. Here the embankment is overgrown with old willows. There is also a lively fish population to be found. The upper course, however, has been heavily modified with artificial embankments and straightening. The water has quality class II.
