Map of the Inner and Outer Alster

The heavily frequented running route has no inclines apart from the bridge ramps , runs mainly on shady bike and footpaths and is suitable for both beginners and advanced skiers. Two sections of around 500 meters in length lead over leveled sandy paths, otherwise the running route is paved throughout. The path, which is almost continuously located directly on the banks of the Alster, is marked with half-kilometer stones and equipped with two stationary water dispensers from the Hamburg waterworks and several sanitary stations.

The circular route goes back to St. Georg along the six Hamburg districts of Hohenfelde , Uhlenhorst , Winterhude , Harvestehude , Rotherbaum . It leads mostly through the Alsterpark and goes over the Schwanenwikbrücke , Feenteichbrücke , Fernsichtbrücke , Krugkoppelbrücke , Kennedybrücke and Hohenfelder Bridge. The running track will not be closed off for the event.

According to the running magazine Runner's World , a very well trained runner needs 25 minutes for the route, an average runner needs between 40 and 50 minutes.

Supporting program

On the Schwanenwikwiese you will find the starting number distribution, the start and finish area as well as the supply stations for drinks and food.
