The Laugarvatnsvegur is a main road in the south of Iceland .

The road 37 branches off from the Biskupstungnabraut at Svínavatn to the north. A mast from Vegagerðin stands here to monitor traffic and weather. The Laugarvatnsvegur runs west of the Apavatn . In Laugarvatn in a roundabout Lyngdalsheiðarvegur hits on this road. It comes from the west from Þingvellir and from Þingvallavatn . The speed limit is still reduced behind the village because there are long areas with summer houses . After the Laugarvatnsvegur heads east, the Hlöðuvallavegur branches off to the north. It becomes and leads past Skjaldbreiður . The Brúará is the largest bridged river along the Laugarvatnsvegurs. It rushes over the Brúar- , Mið- and Hlauptungufoss waterfalls . The Laugarvatnsvegur ends where the biscuit bride comes from the south and gives the name to the further course. From here it is another 5 km to the geyser and another 10 km to Gullfoss .

Laugarvatnsvegur is part of the Golden Circle and is 36 km long. The corresponding route on the biscuit nabraut is 2 km longer.
