Laughlin is a city ( census-designated place ) in southern Nevada on Colorado on the border with Arizona about 152 kilometers south of Las Vegas. In 2000 the place had 7076 inhabitants.

The city has the third most casinos in Nevada after Las Vegas and Reno . It was named after its founder Don Laughlin , the owner of the Riverside Resort, after the names Jackpot , Riverside and Casino were rejected by the US Postal Authority . Across the Colorado River from Laughlin is Bullhead City , Arizona, which is where most of the casino employees come from.
