Laurence Harlé

Laurence Harlé ( April 15, 1949 - June 4, 2005 ) was a French comic book writer .

Life

In 1973 the mother of three created the character Jonathan Cartland together with the draftsman Michel Blanc-Dumont , which was first published in the short-lived magazine Lucky Luke and later in Pilote . Harlé described her western hero like this: “ He is a man who is torn between different cultures, a bit naive, because he only knows his path unclearly. Actually, he's never entirely innocent, but at the same time he's not entirely responsible for what happens. “The ten-volume series was first published in Germany in the series Die große Edel-Western , later completed again by the publishers Splitter and Comicplus + . She has also worked as a writer and columnist for French-language publications. She died on June 4, 2005 after a long illness at the age of 56.
