Laurent Petitgand (born September 28, 1959 in Laxou , France ) is a French composer, film composer, singer, actor and instrumentalist. He plays guitar, piano and saxophone.

Petitgand composed a. a. Ballet music for Angelin Preljocaj and wrote and arranged the music for over 30 films. In 1985 he worked for a film with Wim Wenders for the first time . Since then, he has been involved in Wenders' films as a composer, the last time in 2017 in the documentary Pope Francis - A Man of His Word . In 2006 he wrote the music for The Inner Life of Martin Frost , Paul Auster's debut film director.

Laurent Petitgand is the brother of the composer and installation artist Dominique Petitgand.
