Lawrence Schimel (* 16th October 1971 in New York City , New York ) is an American science fiction - and fantasy - a writer and editor whose work very often, gay and Jewish treated subjects.

biography

Schimel studied in New York and graduated with a BA in literature from Yale University . He is a member of the National Book Critics Circle and the Academy of American Poets . He is a founding member of Publishing Triangles , an organization for gay people in the publishing industry, which he chaired twice from 1996 to 1998.

It received the Rhysling Award once and the Lambda Literary Award twice.

In 2010 he was a juror for the James Tiptree, Jr. Award , as well as for the Lambda Literary Award 2011.

According to his blog, he has lived in Madrid since 1999 .
