Le Môle is a 1,863 meter high mountain in the French department of Haute-Savoie in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region . It lies between the Arve valley in the south-west and the Giffre valley in the north and east. The mountain is 30 kilometers from Geneva and from Lake Geneva it forms the gateway to the Savoy Alps .
From the top you can see the Jura Mountains , Lake Geneva, Mont Blanc , the Chaîne du Bargy and the Salève .
Trivia
- Le Môle can be seen in the picture "Vue de Mornex" by Camille Corot (left, seen from Mornex ).
- On the southern slope of the mountain are the Ayse vineyards .
- There is an easily walkable hiking trail to the summit of Saint-Jean-de-Tholome (12km, 660m)
