Le PAL is an amusement park in France that consists of an amusement park and an animal park . It is located near the commune of Saint-Pourçain-sur-Besbre in the canton of Dompierre-sur-Besbre .
On a total area of around 50 hectares, 26 attractions and over 700 animals are offered. The park is managed by Arnaud Bennet, the son of André Charbonnier, who died in 1981 and the founder of the park.
history
Le PAL was opened in 1973 as a zoo by André Charbonnier with the help of a veterinarian from the Paris Zoo de Vincennes . In the first few years the park already had a train and a small playground. It was only in 1981 that the previous park became an amusement park with a zoo. In 1998 the park counted around 280,000 visitors, in 2009 there were 514,040, in 2016 there were 591,000 and in 2017 there were 600,000 visitors to the park.
Animal park
The Le PAL animal park has several large areas on which over 700 animals live. The park also offers regular animal demonstrations, both with sea lions and parrots . But elephants , giraffes and zebras can also be found in the park. In addition, the park is owned by many species of cats such as lions , tigers , leopards , panthers , etc., but you can also visit a wide variety of bird species in the park.
