Lebrecht Bachenschwanz (born July 16, 1729 in Zerbst , † May 15, 1802 in Dresden ) was a German writer and translator .

Life

The son of a royal court rider attended the Barthomäisschule and then moved to the Zerbster high school Francisceum . With this prior education, he studied law at the University of Halle , the University of Leipzig and the University of Wittenberg . In 1775 he went from Leipzig to Dresden and in 1776 became private secretary of the Count von Baudis , general and governor of Dresden.

Bach tail translated the first German translator 1767 to 1769, the Divine Comedy of Dante in German prose and wrote a work on "History and state of the Saxon army." He started this in 1783 and continued it until his death. He was the founder of the list of names and rankings of the Saxon army , which appeared as a periodical publication.
