Lebrecht von dem Bussche (born October 15, 1666 in Haddenhausen , † April 10, 1715 in Reval ) was a Russian major general and governor of Riga .

Life

origin

He was a member of the East Westphalian noble family von dem Bussche . His parents were the heir to Haddenhausen, Hilmar von dem Bussche (1617–1677) and Lucia Elisabeth von Steding-Holzhausen (1629–1671).

career

Bussche began his career in the Brandenburg service, where he was allowed to lead a company of cadets and eventually advanced to the rank of Prussian colonel . He was cathedral capitular in Magdeburg , where he also had an hereditary testator . After his marriage he entered the service of Russia , where he advanced to major general and eventually became governor of Riga.

family

Bussche married Eva Charlotte von Flemming (1684–1743), daughter of Count Heino Heinrich von Flemming and Dorothea Elisabeth (née von Pfuel ) in 1701 . The marriage resulted in two sons and a daughter. Around 1737 Eva Charlotte remarried with the Russian quartermaster general Friedrich Wilhelm von Schack on Radibor.
