Lee Dorrian with Cathedral 2009

Lee Dorrian gave hardcore concerts at the Hand & Heart Club and thus met Mick Harris . In 1986 Dorrian joined Napalm Death . The first joint show was the opening act for Antisect and Heresy . In 1987 the debut album Scum was released , which contained songs on the A-side that came from an earlier line-up of Napalm Death. Lee Dorrian can be heard on the B-side with 16 songs. In 1988 he sings the second album From Enslavement to Obliteration and in 1989 the Extended Play Mentally Murdered . In 1989 Dorrian organized a two-week tour of Japan with the band SOB , which was one of the influences of Napalm Death. Internal quarrels arose during the tour as the tour was very poorly organized and resulted in more costs than was collected. Regardless of this, the band no longer understood each other and long-suppressed conflicts came to light on the tour. Together with Bill Steer he left the group after the tour.

After leaving, Dorrian founded Cathedral, which is still active today. With this band he played mostly Doom Metal with a few borrowings from Death Metal . His singing changed from the guttural grunts in Napalm Death to a deeper clear vocals. A total of nine albums were released, as well as various other records of the group. In the late 1980s he founded the label Rise Above Records , which was initially founded as a grindcore label, but became a doom metal / stoner rock label in the 1990s .

Dorrian was also involved in the Drone Doom supergroup Teeth of Lions Rule the Divine .
