Lee Goren (born December 26, 1977 in Winnipeg , Manitoba ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who was last under contract with Linköpings HC in the Elitserien .

Career

Lee Goren played for the University of North Dakota between 1997 and 2000 , with which he won the 2000 Western Collegiate Hockey Association championship. This qualified his team for the Frozen Four tournament of the NCAA , where he was named MVP .

In the following seven years he went on the ice for the Providence Bruins , San Antonio Rampage and the Manitoba Moose in the American Hockey League . He also made a total of 67 appearances in the National Hockey League for the Boston Bruins , Florida Panthers and Vancouver Canucks . In 2007 he decided to move to Europe, where he signed a one-year contract with Skellefteå AIK .

At the beginning of the following season, Goren was used in the qualifying tournament of the Champions Hockey League for SC Bern . He then played nine games for EV Zug from the National League A before returning to Sweden and taking on a tax-privileged half-year contract with Färjestad BK . With Färjestad he won the Swedish championship at the end of the season .

In January 2010, he moved back to SC Bern in exchange for Ľuboš Bartečko after he was no longer wanted at Färjestad BK. After his return he became Swiss champions with Bern in the 2009/10 season . In July 2010 he switched to the Straubing Tigers from the DEL .

On January 29, 2011, Goren stated that he had an offer from SC Bern. He asked for clearance and refused to play for the Straubing Tigers. Their club management then announced the termination of the contract a day later. At SC Bern, the Canadian ended the 2010/11 season before he was signed again by Skellefteå AIK from the Elitserien in June 2011.
