Walter Lee Sweatt (born May 13, 1985 in Elburn , Illinois ) is a former American ice hockey player who, during his playing career, played for the Vancouver Canucks in the National Hockey League and the EC Red Bull Salzburg in the Austrian Ice Hockey League , TPS Turku has played in the Finnish SM-liiga and Dinamo Riga in the Continental Hockey League .

Career

Lee Sweatt began his career as a hockey player with the Chicago Steel, for which he was active in the United States Hockey League in the 2002/03 season . The defender then played for the Colorado College team for four years before making his professional hockey debut for the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League towards the end of the 2006/07 season .

The right -handed shooter then moved to the Finnish SM-liiga for TPS Turku before he received a contract with EC Red Bull Salzburg in the Austrian ice hockey league for the 2008/09 season . The American failed with the Austrians in the championship final at the EC KAC . Following this season he signed a contract with Dinamo Riga from the Continental Hockey League , which was dissolved in January 2010 by mutual agreement. Two days later he returned to his ex-club TPS Turku, with whom he was Finnish champion at the end of the season . In May 2010 he signed a contract with the Vancouver Canucks , which used him mainly on the farm team at the Manitoba Moose .

On July 11, 2011, Sweatt signed a two-year contract with the Ottawa Senators for two years before announcing his retirement a month later.

International

For the USA Sweatt took part in the IIHF Inline Hockey World Championship in 2008 , where he finished fourth with his team.
