Lee Won-young ( kor. 이원영 ; born March 13, 1981 ) is a South Korean football player .
Career
Lee Won-young learned to play football at Boin High School . His professional career began in 2000 at the South Korean club Pohang Steelers in Pohang . The club played in the country's first division, the K League 1 . From 2002 to 2003 he played for Police FC . The club's players include South Korean professional footballers who are doing their two-year military service. After serving in the military, he returned to the Steelers. In late 2006 he left the club and joined the league competitor Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors from Jeonju . After a year he left the club and signed a contract with Jeju United, also playing in the first division . Here, too, he only played a year. In 2009 he went to Busan and played at Busan IPark for three years . After the betting scandal, he left South Korea and played for Al-Ittifaq in Saudi Arabia for two years . After no manipulation in the betting scandal could be proven, he returned to his last South Korean club Busan IPark for two years in 2013. In 2015 he moved to Thailand for a year , where he played for the second division Pattaya United . With the club from Pattaya he made it to the Thai Premier League . After the climb, he returned to Busan IPark. Here he played again for a year before returning to Thailand as captain for Pattaya United in 2017 . After two years in Pattaya, the crowd favorite signed a contract with the Thai second division team Samut Sakhon FC for 2019 . For the club from Samut Sakhon , he completed 25 games. After the end of the season, his contract was not extended. He has been without a contract or association since the beginning of 2020.
In 2013 his name was changed from Lee Jung-ho to Lee Won-young.
