Lego Worlds is an open world where the player using Lego bricks can create their own world.

Gameplay

At the beginning the player selects a randomly generated world. This consists exclusively of Lego bricks and is generated by means of procedural synthesis . The game world can be changed at any time using terraforming , so new rivers can be laid out or mountains can be created. With the help of Lego bricks, the player can, for example, build buildings and vehicles . It is also possible to mine resources and raise treasures . An import of models from the Lego Digital Designer is possible to a limited extent, as not all Lego blocks are included in the game.

In the press, comparisons to Minecraft ("Minecraft Killer") are drawn, as both games are very similar. There will also be battles and weapons in Lego Worlds. An extension via mods should be possible later.

Release

Lego Worlds has been available as Early Access on Steam for PC since June 1, 2015 . For the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One , the game was originally supposed to be released on February 23, 2017, but was only launched on March 7, 2017. A conversion for the Nintendo Switch appeared on September 7th of the same year.

The Lego Agents download extension was available exclusively to owners of the PlayStation version for the first 90 days after it was released.
