The Leistnerhübel is a 879 m high mountain and is located about 1 km south of Wildenthal in the Western Ore Mountains .

Origin of the name

This mountain was named after the chief forest warden Hermann Leistner, who lived in Wildenthal and did some work in the care of the forest around the Auersberg . Forester Dick, head of the Wildenthal Forestry Office, informed the State Forestry Administration of Saxony about the funeral after Leistner's death on November 25, 1933. Previously the summit was called Storpsgehau .

At the foot of the Leistnerhübels and the Schöne Aussicht (883 m), the Amselpfad, a hiking trail that is used in winter as a ski hiking trail and feeder to the Kammloipe , meanders . This forest path leads from Wildenthal to Oberwildenthal and then on along the old Reichsstraße 93 to the old Hischenstander Pass , which has been a border crossing for hikers, skiers and cyclists to Jelení in Bohemia since 1997 .
