Lejla Ganic

Lejla Ganic (born in the 20th century ) is an interior and costume designer who worked at the Vienna Burgtheater in 2013 .

Life

In 2013 she designed the costumes for two Matthias Hartmann productions while he was in charge of the Burgtheater: The Last Witnesses and Sparrow and Angel . Both pieces are still on the Burgtheater's repertoire. Spatz und Engel is a musical evening that tries to recount the relationship between Édith Piaf and Marlene Dietrich . It was first performed on April 28, 2013 as a benefit gala for the No to Arm and Sick initiative and added to the repertoire in autumn of the same year. The production also made guest appearances at the Schauspielhaus Graz , in Bozen and Meran. The contemporary witness project The Last Witnesses (on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the 1938 November pogroms of the Nazi regime ) was also invited to the Berlin Theatertreffen , the Staatsschauspiel Dresden , the Deutsche Schauspielhaus Hamburg and the Schauspiel Frankfurt . In 2015 Ganic was entrusted with the costume work for the Barbara Frey production of Gombrowicz Yvonne, the Burgundy princess at the Schauspielhaus Zürich . In October 2015 she designed the costumes for Heiner Müller's Hamlet machine in the vestibule of the Burgtheater, which was staged by Christina Tscharyisky .

In 2014, Ganic designed the GIL Couture fashion store on Vienna's Kohlmarkt , with Wiener Werkstätten executing it . The Style Guide wrote: "The 135 square meters not only testify to fashion, but also architecturally to exquisite taste."
