Lenders is a district of Oechsen in the Wartburg district in Thuringia .

location

Lenders is located about one kilometer as the crow flies south of the main town on the southern edge of the Oechsetal . A narrow road (now part of the Thuringian Way of St. James) leads via Lenders into the Kohlbachtal to the south, to Gerstengrund , Zitters and Kranlucken . The geographic height of the place is 555  m above sea level. NN .

A steep driveway connects the district with the busy state road L 1026 ( Dermbach - Geisa ). Due to the small number of inhabitants, the public transport stop is at the junction with Landesstraße 500 m away, and the few school children are driven by a taxi company.

history

Lenders was first mentioned in a document in 1484. For centuries it belonged to the Geisa / Rockenstuhl Office of Fulda .

From the location chosen at the time, one can deduce that the areas were being developed to feed the growing population. On June 30, 2009, 22 residents lived in the district.

Attractions

  • Lenders owns an inn and several listed half-timbered houses.
  • Several cycling and long-distance hiking trails lead past the site.
  • A "fountain" built in 2007 by the village youth shows mythological scenes from ancient Greece.
