Leni Statz (born May 10, 1929 in Saalfeld / Saale ) is a German humorist and children's voice imitator .

Life

Statz learned the trade of a shoe saleswoman and appeared for the first time in her hometown in 1947 as a children's voice imitator in various dialects. After she became famous in Thuringia, she received an invitation to a radio broadcast from the Leipzig broadcaster in 1957. It was through this program that Heinz Quermann became aware of the artist, and she made her first television appearance in January 1958 in the program Da is laughing in Berlin's Friedrichstadtpalast . She subsequently appeared on stage in eight other programs in this series.

In 1957, the manager of a shoe shop decided to turn her hobby into a profession and at the beginning of 1958, after passing an examination at Hallesches Steintor-Varieté , she obtained the necessary license as a professional artist in the GDR . From 1960 she went on tour with the Vier Brummers . This was followed by further tours with Susi Schuster , until 1982 and since 1991 with the Oberhof farmers' market , and between 1983 and 1991 with ex-brummer Wolfgang Roeder under the title Unterwegs in Dinge Lachen.
