Lenkiwzi ( Ukrainian Ленківці ; Russian Ленковцы Lenkowzy , Romanian Lencăuţi ) is a village in the north of the Ukrainian Chernivtsi Oblast with about 2,300 inhabitants (2001).
The village, first mentioned in writing in 1559, is located in the historical landscape of northern Bessarabia and is the administrative center of the district council of the same name in the north of Kelmenzi district , to which the village of Makariwka ( Макарівка , ⊙ ), 8 km north in a bend in the Dniester river , is also included belongs to about 5 residents.
The village is located at an altitude of 194 m near the mouth of the 21 km long Surscha ( Сурша ) in the Dniester , 10 km northwest of the Kelmenzi district and about 85 km northeast of the Chernivtsi Oblast center .
The territorial road T – 26–17 and the Kelmenzi – Kalinkawitschy railway line run through the village .
