The villa at Leo-Tolstoi-Straße 8 is a building in Darmstadt-Eberstadt . The classicistic building is a cultural monument for architectural, architectural and urban historical reasons .
History and description
The villa was built in 1913 . The client was the grand ducal auditor Emil Schlitt. Stylistically, the building belongs to neoclassicism .
Typical of the classicist style are the cube-like house shape and the gently sloping tent roof with a beaver tail covering . This architectural style also includes the axially symmetrical veranda facing south with a glazed loggia on the upper floor . The two-storey winter garden on the north side is also arranged symmetrically. The continuous cornices also have a classicistic effect ; separate the ground floor and first floor from each other.
Also noteworthy are two reliefs on the upper floor on the south side, the parapet cladding of the south loggia, the coffered underside of the loggia, the surrounding frieze below the roof end and the shape and shape of the chimney .
The historic wrought iron fence is well preserved . The initials "ES" (= Emil Schlitt) on the garden gate document the owner.
