Leo Imhoff

Leo Imhoff (born November 28, 1921 in Essen ; † November 17, 2013 there ) was a German restaurateur and association official.

Life

Leo Imhoff was born on November 28, 1921 in Essen, the son of Hubert Imhoff. He learned the confectionery trade .

On February 1, 1955, Leo Imhoff opened his first restaurant, Parkhaus Hügel . In the following years and decades, the company managed by Leo Imhoff expanded with gastronomic offers in Essen, Mülheim an der Ruhr and Oberhausen . In addition, there were various catering orders , including for the EU summit of the European Council in Essen in 1994.

In 1973 Leo Imhoff became President of the German Hotel and Restaurant Association and held this office until 1992. After his resignation, the delegates elected him honorary president of the association. In addition, Imhoff was a member of the supervisory board of the liability insurance of the German hotel and restaurant trade (later the liability insurance company Darmstadt ) for almost twenty years , including several years as chairman of the supervisory board . He resigned from this office in 2001. He was also chairman of the Brillat Savarin Foundation .

For his social commitment, Leo Imhoff was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class and the Great Federal Cross of Merit.
