Leo Stracké

Leo Paulus Johannes Stracké (born July 30, 1851 in Rotterdam , † February 17, 1923 in The Hague ) was a Dutch engraver , sculptor and restorer .

Stracké, son of the German-Dutch sculptor Jean Theodore Stracké (1817–1891) born in Dorsten , younger brother of the Dutch sculptor Franciscus Leonardus Stracké (1849–1919), nephew of the German-Dutch sculptor Franz (Frans) Stracké (1820–1898) , studied from 1870 to 1872 at the Düsseldorf Art Academy with Andreas Müller drawing and painting (elementary class) as well as copper engraving with Joseph von Keller . In 1879 he lived in 's-Hertogenbosch , in the same year he moved to Rotterdam , where he stayed until around the turn of the century and worked as a restorer in the city's historical museum.
