Leon Hardy Canfield (also Leon H. Canfield , born October 3, 1886 in Binghamton , Broome County , New York , United States , † June 15, 1980 in Honolulu , Hawaii , United States) was an American historian and educator .

Family and education

Born in the city ​​of Binghamton in the US state of New York, Leon Hardy Canfield, son of Andrew Canfield and the Phebe Canfield, née Hardy, turned after high school to study history at Syracuse University , in 1908 he graduated with a bachelor's degree of Arts . 1913 took place at Columbia University his doctorate to Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.
