Leonhard Herold
Leonhard Herold (born December 12, 1819 in Chur ; † May 19, 1902 there ) was a Swiss Reformed pastor .
Life
Leonhard Herold attended the Protestant Bündner Kantonsschule in Chur , then studied Protestant theology at the universities of Tübingen and Berlin. On June 20, 1842, he was accepted into the Evangelical-Rhaetian Synod in Maienfeld . As this gave him permission to work as a pastor throughout the canton, he took over the pastor's post in Igis shortly afterwards .
In 1844 he moved to Teufen , returned to Chur for three years and became a free preacher and catechist . In 1848/1849 he was a professor at the Chur Cantonal School. In 1858 Herold became pastor of the Regulakirche , a year later he was appointed to the Martinskirche . He stayed there until 1896. He then retired, which he spent in Chur. Leonhard Herold died in Chur on May 19, 1902.
