Leopold Prucha

Leopold Prucha (born March 14, 1934 in Vienna ) was district chairman of the 10th Vienna district of Favoriten .

Life

Leopold Prucha was the son of a family of brick workers from Favoritner. He learned the trade of carpenter and then worked for the Wienerberger company . He also graduated from the social academy. He was unionized as the youth secretary of the construction and woodworkers and later became a brickworker secretary. Over time, he rose to a management position at Wienerberger, where he mainly dealt with work problems.

From a young age, Prucha was active in the SPÖ . He was section chairman and elected district treasurer of Favoriten, from 1978 to 1984 deputy district chairman. In this role he played a major role in the zoning of the former Wienerberg grounds. Prucha was the district chairman of Favoriten from June 19, 1984 to December 5, 1994.

The Leopold-Prucha-Saal in the Adult Education Center was named in his honor.
