Josef Deutsch (politician, 1925)

Josef Deutsch (born March 24, 1925 in Wallendorf ; † February 4, 2016 in Vienna ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and district chairman of the 10th Viennese district of Favoriten .

Life

Josef Deutsch, who comes from southern Burgenland, did an apprenticeship as a baker in Fürstenfeld from 1939 to 1943 before he was called up for military service. In 1945 he went to Vienna as a construction worker, where he was involved in the trade union movement. From 1947 he worked in the anchor bread factory in Favoriten, where he was chairman of the workers' works council in 1953. In 1957 he became deputy chairman of the union of food and luxury goods workers and a member of the federal executive committee of the Austrian trade union federation .

From 1964 to 1977, Deutsch worked at the municipal level in the Vienna State Parliament and municipal council for his home district of Favoriten. From 1977 to 1984 German was district chairman of the 10th district.
