The Leprosenhauskirche is structurally connected to the Leprosenhaus on Müllner-Hauptstrasse No. 6 down the slope to the Salzach in the Mülln district in the municipality of Salzburg . The Roman Catholic Church, consecrated to Saints Jerome and Antonius Eremit , belongs to the city ​​dean of Salzburg of the Archdiocese of Salzburg . The church and the Leper House are under monument protection ( list entry ).

history

In a document in the 13th century, a Sundersiechenhaus in Mülln was mentioned. The current building was built in the early 18th century. Last used as a state nursing home, there is currently no use. In 1975 the facade was restored.

The current church was consecrated in 1714. The church was restored in 1970/1971.

architecture

The rectangular church building with a round apse, structurally connected to the Leprosenhaus, has a facade framed with corner pilasters and a hipped roof set off with a cornice and carries a ridge turret. The windows have a retracted round arch and oval windows above.

The three-bay nave has groin vaults between belt arches on Tuscan pilasters. The apse is slightly drawn in. The gallery is two-story.

Furnishing

The high altar from the first quarter of the 18th century has side sacrificial portals, above it adicules with the statues Hieronymus and Antonius hermit and the top figures Sebastian and Rochus. The central altarpiece shows the former side altarpiece with the miraculous image of Maria Dorfen and the round extract image shows God the Father .

The Mauracher - Organ (1910)

The organ of the Leprosenhauskirche was built in 1910 in the workshop of the organ builder Albert Mauracher . The instrument with a pneumatic cone drawer originally had 5 stops , divided between a manual and a pedal . In 1981 it was technically rebuilt by the Salzburg organ builder Fritz Mertel with a mechanical slider . The case , the console and almost all pipes were retained and the instrument was expanded to a total of 6 registers.
