Leszek Czarnecki
Leszek Czarnecki (born May 9, 1962 in Wroclaw ) is a Polish engineer , economist and businessman. He is considered one of the richest Poles.

Leszek Czarnecki attended grammar school No. III in Wroclaw. He then studied at the Faculty of Engineering in the field of plumbing at the Technical University of Wroclaw . During his studies he founded his first company in 1986, the company TAN (hydrotechnology and engineering, especially underwater work). He quickly became the majority shareholder and in 1991 sold the company to his business partner. In the same year he founded the European Leasing Fund ( Europejski Fundusz Leasingowy , EFL), of which he sold 75% to Crédit Agricole in 2001 . Until 2003 he held 25% of the newly created Credit Agricole Polska .
In 2002 he founded Getin Holding SA , a public limited company specializing in the finance, insurance and leasing market. In 2005/2006 he bought the Poltegor Center from the 1970s , which was then the tallest building in the center of Wroclaw. In place of the Poltegor Center , he had the Sky Tower built, the investor of which is LC CORP, a public company owned by Leszek Czarnecki.

Awards
In 1998 Leszek Czarnecki was named one of the top ten European managers by the Wall Street Journal (“The best CEO in Central Europe”). In the same year he was the winner of the “Young Business Achiever” competition in Beijing. In 2004 the Financial Times named him one of the 25 "rising stars in European business" on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of economic change and entry into the general European economic market. She described him as a "trendsetter who will point the way in the future of finance".
In 2004 he was made an honorary member of the Polish Association of Leasing Companies. In November of the same year he was one of four people who were awarded the title “Entrepreneur of the Year in Eastern Europe” by the INSEAD business school and the French Ministry of Finance.
In 2005 he won the prestigious Lesław Paga Prize for outstanding performance and personal contribution to the development of Polish finance.
In 2005, 2006 and 2007 he was named Player of the Year in a list in Forbes Magazine's Polish edition .
In November 2009, Leszek Czarnecki was honored as “Entrepreneur of the Year” in a poll organized by Ernst & Young . The reason for this award was the fact that Leszek Czarnecki created new jobs rather than cut them during the hardest times of the economic crisis.
In the same month he was awarded the title “Entrepreneur of the 20th Century” by the business newspaper Puls Biznesu .
In March 2010 he was awarded the title of Financier of the Year 2009 by the financial newspaper Gazeta Finansowa .
In May of the same year, the Polish Confederation of Private Employers Lewiatan awarded him the Andrzej Wierzbicki Prize for his success in business.
In 2010 the student foundation Forum Business Center Club of the BCC awarded Leszek Czarnecki a prize for his commitment that led to the promotion and development of entrepreneurship in Poland.
In the same year Leszek Czarnecki was awarded a Medal of Honor by the Polish Insurance Chamber for long-term support and cooperation.
In January 2011, it chose the business daily Puls Biznesu for Entrepreneur of the Year 2010 . He received another award from the Warsaw Business Journal in the “Business Leader of the Year” category.
social commitment
In 2009 the first edition of the program Przedsiebiorczość - inicjatywa Leszka Czarneckiego took place. These are discussion forums organized by the most recognized universities in Poland and with the active participation of Leszek Czarnecki.
In the same year the competition “I study, work, manage” started. In doing so, he enables young entrepreneurs to enter into a joint venture with him. A second edition of this competition ended in 2010 and a third edition started in 2011.
Leszek Czarnecki is also the founder of the LC Heart Foundation , which started its activity in 2007 in Wroclaw. The foundation helps children and young people fight for equal opportunities in life. The foundation currently bears the name of its donor ( Fundacja Leszka Czarneckiego ).
Private
His great passion is diving, especially in difficult waters such as B. Caves and related trips. He also holds a pilot's license .
Record holders in Poland and the world:
- Polish record in deep cave diving - 193 m in Boesmansgat cave, South Africa (2003)
- World record in cave length diving - 17 km in the Dos Ojos cave system on the Yucatán peninsula in Mexico (2009). There he improved his previous record of 14 km, which he set in the same cave system in 2005.
- Has organized several diving expeditions such as B. to the North Pole ( ice diving ), to the Antarctic , the Bikini Atoll (wreck diving in the aircraft carrier Saratoga , which was sunk by an atomic bomb) or an excursion through the impassable steppes of Siberia to dive in Lake Baikal .
