reception
It was voted one of the top ten best albums of 1994 by the readers of the US music magazine Guitar World in November 2011 . Stephen Thomas Erlewine of Allmusic described the album as "sheer energy". He praised the music as "a less serious and party-friendly version of The Clash " ( "less-serious, party-ready version of The Clash"). The album received a rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars, with the song Salvation being a first success for Rancid.
Sales success
After the album was released on June 14, 1994, the album reached number 97 on April 8, 1995 in the American album charts . Around 5 years later, the album had sold over 500,000 times, so that it was awarded the gold record in the USA .
