development

The type was developed largely in parallel with the Letov Š-13 , but showed a much more conventional design in terms of the supporting structure. The first flight of the machine took place in 1924. The construction was carried out by Alois Šmolík .

Only one copy of this type was made. The machine showed an acceptable performance, but was abandoned in favor of the further developed and then successful Letov Š-20 . In the summer of 1924, the Š-14 was converted into a high-wing racing aircraft.
