The Letov Š-3 aircraft is a single-engine, single-seat high - wing aircraft that was developed as a fighter aircraft .

development

The first flight of the machine took place in 1922. The construction was carried out by Alois Šmolík . The machine was mostly made of wood and covered with fabric. It only had one pilot's seat. The machine guns the pilot operated were pointed straight forward.

The Š-3 showed good high-speed flight performance, but the military did not trust the monoplane design . Therefore the project was not pursued further after two prototypes; instead, the Letov Š-4 biplane was driven. However, the wings of the Letov Š-3 were used again in the Letov Š-12 .
