Leubsdorf is a district of the municipality of Lemnitz in the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia .

geography

Leubsdorf is to the west of the federal motorway 9 Munich - Berlin at the end of the northern roof of the southeast Thuringian slate mountains at the transition to the Orlasenke shortly before the Triptis junction . A larger forest area begins south of the village. The municipality of Lemmnitz is located north of the Leubsdorf district.

history

The first documentary mention of the place took place in 1378. The place was and is characterized by agriculture, forestry and fishing. The farmers of the place belonged to an agro-industrial association during the GDR . After the fall of the Wall, they reorganized themselves into the agricultural cooperative Drei Eichen eG Leubsdorf.

A museum barn was set up on the forecourt of the castle from the lower manor. In the meantime, both villages belong to the Triptis administrative community .
