Levin Möller

Levin Möller , also Lewin Moeller , (born November 13, 1709 in Ryd , Skåne ; † November 22, 1768 in Linköping ) was a Swedish Lutheran theologian and mathematician.

Life

Levin Möller studied at Lund University from 1726 , where he received his master's degree in 1734 and lectured from 1735. Then he became a companion of the son of the Reichsrat Count Bielke . He then continued his studies at the University of Greifswald . There he became a professor of philosophy in 1742 and taught logic and metaphysics. In 1745 he published a French - Swedish dictionary .

Levin Möller received his doctorate in theology in 1750 under Jakob Heinrich von Balthasar . He gave lectures on theological sciences. After Johann Hermann Becker left , the third theological professorship at the university became vacant in 1751. Together with the professorship of theology, Levin Möller received the associated pastorate at the St. Jacobi Church in 1752 . In 1751 and 1752 he was rector of the college.

In 1763 or 1765 Levin Möller took over the post of provost at Linköping Cathedral . The consequences of a stroke recently forced him to remain inactive for long periods of time.

Levin Möller married Cicilia Helena Papke (1715–1745), daughter of the theologian Carl Papke, for the first time in 1743 .
