Lewisburg is a town in County Preble in the US state of Ohio , about 30 km west of Dayton on I-70 . The place has almost 1,800 inhabitants (as of the 2000 census ).
history
Lewisburg was parceled out west of Twin Creek (a small river) by Henry Horn in 1818 . Before the construction of the National Road from Cumberland, Maryland to Vandalia, Illinois from 1811 to 1839, Lewisburg had no access to the rail or highway network. When the National Road reached Lewisburg and passed north, John Muma founded Euphemia right on the road. The two localities grew together and were united in 1916 under the name Lewisburg.

Lewisburg two were covered bridges (ger .: covered bridge ) to the National Register of Historic Places added (NRHP), and thus under monument protection provided. Both bridges were late 19th century by Evrett S. Sherman (1831-1897) in the framework construction Childs' Truss construction (after the inventor Horace Childs), whose patent had expired. The bridges built by Sherman are the only bridges in the United States that were built using this method of construction.
