The Leyland Olympian MCW was a bus model for left hand traffic from the British truck manufacturer Leyland Motors with a body structure of Metro Cammell Weyman , produced 1954-1958.
The purpose of this series was to produce a lighter version of the Leyland Olympic in the style of the Leyland Tiger Cub . Like the Olympic, the MCW Olympian received the technology from the Leyland Royal Tiger or Leyland Royal Tiger Worldmaster and the chassis of the Tiger Cub. The name Olympian was chosen because Olympic Cub would have sounded bad. Ultimately, the Olympian was only a little more than 150 kg lighter than the Tiger Cub with the same body structure. Outwardly, the two bus models could only be distinguished by the different designation and a differently attached fuel cap. With 60 units sold domestically and 6 exported, it was the worst-selling Leyland Motors bus series after the Second World War .
