Liam Cunningham (actor)
Liam Cunningham (born June 2, 1961 in Dublin ) is an Irish actor .
life and career
Cunningham was born in the East Wall district of Dublin . He has three sisters and one brother and grew up in a Catholic household. At the age of 15, Cunningham dropped out of school and started a job as an electrician . In the 1980s he moved to Zimbabwe in Africa for three years and worked there as a trainer for local electricians in a safari park.
After returning to Ireland , he began training at an acting school. He then worked in the regional theater sector. His first role in a feature film was in 1992 as a policeman in The White Magic Horse ( Into the West ). Cunningham later made other appearances in films such as Little Princess and The 1st Knight . In 1996 he made his final breakthrough with the role of Philloston in the drama Hearts in Riot .
Other well-known film projects in which Cunningham played leading or supporting roles include The Wind That Shakes the Barley (2006), The Mummy: The Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008) and Clash of the Titans (2010). On television he has also played the leading role of President Richard Tate in the BBC series Outcasts since 2011 and the knight Ser Davos Seewert in a major supporting role in the HBO series Game of Thrones from 2012 to 2019 .
Cunningham is married with three children. The family lives in Dublin.
