Liangxi ( Chinese 梁溪 区 , Pinyin Liángxī Qū ) is a municipality in the prefecture -level city of Wuxi in the southern Chinese province of Jiangsu . At the end of 2016, the district had a resident population of 950,000 inhabitants and an area of 71.5 km². It represents the actual city center of Wuxi and was formed on February 20, 2016 from the three districts of Chong'an , Nanchang and Beitang .

The closest airport is Wuxi Airport , which can be reached in 20 minutes by road. Lines 1 and 2 of the Wuxi subway run through the area of Liangxi, as of 2018 there were 18 subway stations.
Administrative structure
As of 2018, Liangxi was made up of 16 street districts at community level. These are called Chong'an Si (崇安 寺 街道), Tongjiang (通 江 街道), Guangrui Lu (广 瑞 路 街道), Shangmadun (上马 墩 街道), Jianghai (江海 街道), Guangyi (广益 街道), Yinglong Qiao (迎 龙桥 街道), Nanchan Si (南禅寺 街道), Qingming Qiao (清 名 桥 街道), Jinxing (金星 街道), Jinkui (金匮 街道), Yangming (扬名 街道), Huangxiang (黄 巷 街道) , Shanbei (山 北 街道), Beida Jie (北 大街 街道) and Huishan (惠山 街道).
The district's seat of government is located in the Chong'an Si street district.
At the village level, the above-mentioned administrative units are divided into 156 communities .
Culture
There are 133 listed sites in Liangxi District, including 12 nationally protected monuments such as the Donglin Academy .
