Liebenau is a district of the Baden-Württemberg community of Meckenbeuren in the Lake Constance district in Germany .
history
There was a castle in Liebenau as early as the 13th century . Over the years, the owners of the castle and the village changed frequently. The village came to the Habsburgs from the Counts of Montfort via the Weingarten Monastery and the Princes of Orange-Nassau . Later it came to Bavaria and finally in 1810 to Württemberg. The Liebenau Schultheisserei was made from the place. The castle came to chaplain Adolf Aich in 1870 , who gave the castle property its current purpose as a sanatorium and nursing home . The community of Liebenau finally became part of the community of Meckenbeuren in 1937.
place
The village has always been shaped by Roman Catholicism. There are two places of worship in Liebenau. The castle chapel and the foundation church of St. Maria. All over Upper Swabia, Liebenau stands for the Liebenau Foundation , which is how it shapes the townscape.
Liebenau is the location of the Ravensburger Spieleland amusement park .
